Visionary Eye Care welcomes Dr. Fatima Ibrahim to the practice.

Visionary Eye Care is happy to announce the addition of a fourth optometrist, Dr. Fatima Ibrahim, to their eye care team. Dr. Michael Ciszek states, “Dr. Ibrahim is a welcome addition to our team of doctors. Her experience in binocular vision, pediatric care, and vision therapy is the perfect complement to the skills of our other three doctors. Not to mention she has an excellent chair side manner and her calm demeanor is a good balance to my wackiness. We are really thrilled to add her to the team.”

With the addition of a fourth doctor, Visionary’s Andersonville location adds consistent exam hours to Mondays and added hours to Sunday, giving Visionary patients the ability to reach a doctor on six, sometimes seven days out of the week. Dr. Ibrahim’s experience in vision therapy also brings extra assistance to all Visionary patients who have eye alignment, tracking, focusing, movement, and processing disorders. Vision therapy can bring improved visual-motor skills and endurance to patients with a history of strokes, concussions, ADHD, Dyslexia, double vision, and reading problems.

About Dr. Ibrahim

Though she was born in the OC, Dr. Fatima is a Chicagoan through and through. She moved to the Midwest at the age of six and grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago. After grade school, Fatima began her undergraduate career at the University of Chicago. There she pursued a BA in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Microbiology. While she spent most days studying to keep up with the rigors of the UChicago curriculum, during free time she wrote and designed for MODA Chicago, taught as a Biochemistry TA, and enjoyed the novelties of college life with her friends. After living in Hyde Park for four years, Fatima moved to Bronzeville and attended the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO). At ICO, Fatima’s love of health care was nurtured and her strong desire to preserve vision was culminated. During optometry school, she had the opportunity to attend the Alcon Academy for Eyecare Excellence in Texas and the Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Institute in Florida. She completed her fourth year clinical rotations at Visionary Eye Care Professionals, The Sydney Hillman Health Center, The Chicago Lighthouse Low Vision Center, The Pangere Center for Inherited Retinal Diseases, LensCrafters, and at the Illinois Eye Institute. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in May 2016. Fatima joined Visionary Eye Care Professionals in June and currently provides full scope primary care with a focus on pediatrics and binocular vision. In addition to eye care, Fatima enjoys trying new restaurants from Chicago’s incredible culinary scene, going to the theatre for live performances and adaptations, traveling when possible, cooking and baking, and spending time with family and friends.
