How do you see yourself in 2020? It’s the question we’re asking ourselves and our patients in order to get the most out of this new decade. Looks like we’re starting with our own staff for answers.
Our Patient Care Coordinator, Jennifer (Jenny) Christian, is taking on a new role as an Optician Apprentice. The role of Optician Apprentice is designed to provide training in order to to develop skills as an Optician. Working under supervision, Jenny will assist patients and customers with choosing and fitting frames for eyeglasses and contact lenses. If you’ve seen Jenny’s styling of her own frames, you’ll know why this is a great fit for her keen eye. She will also be evaluating prescriptions and helping select appropriate eyeglasses and lens materials, as well as contact lenses. An apprentice learns all aspects of the optical industry, and we couldn’t be luckier to have her on the job.
Of her new role, Jenny says, “The optical world has opened up an entirely new industry to me that I never imagined would be so interesting and inspirational. From learning so much about eye health, eye care and styling to being able to see the pure joy on a patient’s face when you’ve saved their frame with an amazing repair. This new role will give me the opportunity to put a smile on many faces.” We couldn’t agree more!
In keeping up with exciting changes, we are adjusting our hours in our Andersonville location. Beginning February 1st, our Andersonville location will be closed on Sundays. However, we will be extending our Monday hours from 10am – 7pm in order to best serve our patients and customers.
Keep up the stride, Visionaries, we’re seeing so many good things in 2020!
