It’s January and time to round up tech-specs for our cameras which helped us complete our year of 21st Century Eye Care.  They are digital diagnostic tools to monitor macular health, to review the back of the eye and general eye fitness. Our mission is your best vision.

Slit Lamp Camera available Aville & Loop

You know that microscope thing that your doctor uses to look at your eyes? It has a camera now. While verbal descriptions are great, a picture is worth a thousand words. You and your doctor will review the image during your exam.

We can bill most PPO medical insurance plans for the fee if you have a condition that warrants taking a photo of the front of your eye.

Fundus Camera available Aville & Loop
The Fundus Camera snaps a digital picture of the back of your eye. On the spot review with your doctor is quick and easy. This system is also connected to a retinal specialist group. Not only does your Visionary doctor review the image, but in about a month you will receive the specialists findings. That’s a two-fer.

And bonus, we can bill most PPO medical insurance plans for the fee.

mPOD Measures Macular Pigment Optical Density available Aville & Loop

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) affects millions of people every year and is the leading cause of blindness in people over age 55. Low Macular Pigment Optical Density is a risk factor for AMD. The macula is the central part of the retina and is responsible for our crisp and clear central vision.

Up until now, the only clinical approach has been reactive: there wasn’t a way to see the degeneration until there was a problem. Visionary Eye Care now offers the simple, non-invasive QuantifEye Test using the mPOD device to determine if you have low macular pigment.

If you are a little low, we discuss lifestyle changes to improve your macular health. For patients who are significantly low, there are supplements to increase macular health.

Introductory Fee: $20. This camera is so new that insurance companies have not coded or priced the test. We think macular health is so important that we are offering the test at a reduced cost.

Ask your doctor if your risk factors make the QuantifEye Test right for you.
